18 days

I've been so engaged with work and socialising that the fact that I am flying to New York on the 22nd has kind of escaped me. I've been so lucky to have visited twice, once in the middle of summer and once at the beginning of spring, so this Xmas/New Year winter visit will show me the city in another mode. Paull just pointed me to this excellent video, and I was surprised to realise that so much of it is familiar. I spend my days there walking and taking the subway to various locations, and after work and on weekends, Paull takes me around like a local. The first time I visited he lived on the Upper East Side, one block from Central Park, and by the next visit he was in the East Village (still is), so I've been lucky to have roamed the streets around both areas. Now for the Xmas tree and ice-skating at the Rockefellar Centre...

And the 22nd is rapidly approaching! You are so lucky and going to have such a wonderful time. Enjoy!! My youngest comes on on the 16th for nearly 4 weeks. I am so excited!! We are spending Christmas Day with my oldest daughter in Riverside and then the 28th will be another Christmas with my middle daughter who lives in southern California - just a couple of miles from Mexico. Two Christmas-es. How lucky am I??
