Argument has always raged at our house between Scrooge (me) and the Spirit of Christmas (Eliza) about when is too soon to put up the tree (me: 24th December) (Eliza: never too soon). The type and quantity of decorations is also a bone of contention (Me: none is good) (Eliza: deck the halls, walls, floors, tables,etc). So it was a bi-partisan agreement of some note when we agreed on this tree during a recent stroll around Ikea. I think I like it because it is just the merest suggestion of a Christmas Tree, but I do like it. Now I have to go buy some presents...

I'm like you Cate - I prefer the bare minimum of decoration. I was not popular when I gave away our old large Christmas Tree and we don't have a new one yet! I'd better hurry up and find one!

LOVE that tree! When the kids were young we had ritual decorating and the tree went up 2 weeks before Xmas. Now they start early, and I'm later and later. This year, since I'm away, I didn't do anything to my own place! However you enjoy the season -the most important part is to just enjoy!
