Countdown

This time of year has a weird feeling about it. The end of the school year is really close, yet it feels so far away. Our programmes are finished, reports sent home, assessments finished; this makes each day feel so much longer for some reason. Students are moving into holiday mode, the weather is humid and our new rooms don't yet have air-con. So I try to keep to the timetable, but introducing more "fun" activities to keep us all on task. We are playbuilding this week, and will dress up and perform for other classes next week (which finishes on Wednesday); maths will be lots of hands-on games and quizzes; weather permitting, we will play a lot more sport than usual. Teachers don't finish on Wednesday, we get two child-free days for professional development. Those two days will have a festive air for sure...
