Summer in the City

...is hot, hot, hot - but it becomes balmy and pleasant at night, and the sidewalk tables fill with people. I spent Friday walking the huge expanse that is the Metropolitan Museum. It was amazing, I've ticked off more of my "must see" artworks. Saturday, we wandered down to the West Village for brunch then to the Pier 4 football grounds for Paull's "seven-a-side" rugby competition. A great bunch of people, they made the semi-finals. I let them go celebrating at midnight and took a cab home!

Sunday - joined many other New Yorkers by relaxing in Central Park. The roller-blade disco, the solo opera singer "Thoth", a violinist and a saxophonist entertained us along the way.

Today - some rain, so I'll delay the Staten Island Ferry ride and go to the Guggenheim for some more sensory overload.............

I am very much looking forward to meeting you at BlogHer. I love working with your son which already says so much about you. Looks like you're having a great time in NYC - San Fran should be great as well!

Cate...it looks and sounds like you're having a fabulous holiday!

I'm not sure if you follow Jen Lemen's blog or not (I've posted a bit about her and her trip to Rwanda and her friend Odette) but Jen will be at Blogher with Odette and it sounds like she'll be speaking. Just thought I'd let you know in case you might be interested.

I actually looked at going myself last week but it would have been too much of a rush as I'm heading out camping with the grandkids on the following Monday. Darn!

Have a great time there!
