Pay Attention...

About a month ago I woke up one morning and realised that a diamond was missing from the setting of my favourite ring - it has four small diamonds set individually. I bought this "right hand" ring over 25 years ago (!) It was to mark a turning point in my life, and I've worn it almost every day since. I have a (weird!) habit of turning it towards the light to watch it flash, so I knew pretty much when the diamond had disappeared - between after school coffee and waking up the next morning. I searched the bed, the floor, the kitchen sink, didn't vacuum for a few days, then vacuumed and checked the dustbag, but NEVER gave up! That little rock had not de-materialised, so it had to be somewhere.......last night, after moving a sheepskin rug in my bedroom slightly, I noticed something shining on the floor - there it was, my little sparkly diamond. Some days really ARE diamonds - moral to the story - NEVER GIVE UP!

Wow! That is so great! What are the odds of finding that and it's so good that you didn't give up.

I once lost a green contact lens in long green grass and a friend looked for it for hours and actually found it!

A friend of my daughters was helping her shovel our driveway one winter and he lost his ring in the snow...we found it the next spring after the snow had melted!
I love stories like these and I'm so happy you found your diamond.

That's amazing mum! And a perfect fit with your heading here.

Great that you got the diamond back.

That's right: Never give up. I once lost a pearl earring. I found it days later in the pocket of a blouse that had gone through the washing machine. Some things are meant to be and some aren't. Do you think we naturally have an instinct that tells us when to stay the course and when to move on? (By the way, I am envious that your son reads your blog. ;-)
