This cute little cottage is across the road from my place, and backs straight on to the river. My dream home? Well, it was - but now the little cottages on either side have been sold, and demolished; huge new brick buildings are being erected as we speak. Progress? I don't think so!
The footbridge is also new - the rustic older one was deemed "unsafe". I'm pleased to say that the local kids climb over the guardrails and fish from the rather dangerous side supports. The more things change..................

Great to see some pics from East Hills in Spring.
The weather is beautiful in NYC right now, but there's a definite chill in the air. I'm used to starting to feel the onset of Summer around my birthday - this year it's the opposite.
That is sad indeed that the charm of the place has been mowed down and replaced with "progress."
It's awful hearing about this sort of 'progress' taking away the charm of an area. It's such a gorgeous little cottage.

Its heart beaking to hear that their pulling down gorgeous little cottages like that ... they should be protected.
