Be Average

The last day of school holidays - time to check the "to do" list to see how many I've ticked off. Let's see, I've cleaned the exhaust fan over the stove; started the social comments for semester 1 reports; cleaned out the old garden shed; had the car serviced - but there are still things left undone. I've prepared a lot of lessons for the new term so I'm feeling positive about facing 30 restless 11 year olds on Tuesday.
The chores left undone really don't matter because I've used that time to enjoy art, drama, music, food, laughter, sunshine, wine, books, togetherness and love. The dentist really can wait till next holidays!!

LOVE the title of this post!
My daughter recently turned 11 and I cannot imagine a class full of them!
Best of luck to you.
Here in Canada, the end of the school year is approaching, so it seems a bit strange to read about the beginning of it where you are.

A room full of 11 year olds is actually easier than a room full of five year olds!

I loved being 11 ... I made a deal with god when I was that age ... if I didn't make it as a ballerina, I was going to be a nun ... *smile* neither happened ...

Hey, let's not get too rowdy on the dentist. I always LOVED going to the dentist from my earliest recollection ... and now I'm married to one. Coincidence?

You sound like you have your hands full, amping up for the school year. I once taught at a grammar school - 7th & 8th graders - talk about a mind bender! However, I was fortunate to teach one class of 5th graders (ages 10 & 11) and that was the highlight of my day. SWEET at that age!
