Sydney Autumn

I took myself to the Art Gallery yesterday for some much needed creative input. It overlooks the Wooloomooloo end of Sydney - that is Russell Crowe's penthouse in the background -  and as I walked up from the Botanical gardens, I passed the Andrew "Boy" Charlton pool. People were swimming, but more were sunbathing, the cafe was full, the air smelled of Eucalyptus, the sky was brilliant blue. The Art Gallery was packed for the last day of the Chinese Emperors exhibition, but I was more interested in ArtExpress and visiting my old favourites (Picasso's 'Woman in a Rocking Chair"). ArtExpress is the best of the 2011 High School students' major works - their talent is amazing. Meanwhile, at the back of my mind, is the horror of the huge earthquake in Japan. Feeling inadequate once again.

I just love visiting museums. Large or small, they are are a delight. I'm glad you went.

And echoing through my mind of every one of my waking moments are the disasters that fill our world.
