Doomsday??

Nah, it wasn't, but it was really weird.....at first I thought the awning had fallen over the bedroom window, but then realised the whole house was bathed in an orange glow at 6am. As my 5 year old nephew said: "Everything's orange outside". City folk are complaining, but in the far west of the country it happens all the time, and much worse I suspect.

Bird Watching..

Not usually a hobby of mine, but when I came home from walking the dogs this sunny spring morning, there were five Rainbow Lorikeets having a party in my Grevillea bushes and a Sulphur Crested Cockatoo doing gymnastics on the telephone wires. Another one of those "I wish I had my camera" moments (note to self: carry it more often!)
Thank you Google Images

The Best Season...

Spring. The air really is scented. I can walk earlier and it is pleasant to do that. The "under seven's" cricket team is on the field early instead of the "under seven's" soccer team. More people are out, cycling, jogging, walking, fishing. The Sandy Point Dragon Boat Team moves surprisingly quickly up the river. A pelican floats in the same place as she did the last two days, so I expect to see "mini-me" baby pelicans soon. A lovely pause between winter and what will surely be another hot summer. Definitely the best season.

Art Attack #2

Here they are - and the Art Show was a great success for our school. One of our teachers is related to the great Aussie artist Ken Done, and he generously donated a limited edition print to raffle. I bought LOTS of tickets because it will look great in my loungeroom. Stay tuned, I'm sure I will win!
