Circle of Life

We've been fortunate enough to have had our Mum for a long time- 81 years. In her last years she was definitely not herself, living in a nursing home with a hazy grasp on reality. However, she was there for our childhood, our teenage years, our weddings, her grandchildren. She passed away on Sunday night, and as we prepare for her funeral the memories are constantly surfacing. Farewell, Mum - and thanks for everything.

Easter Break

The Easter break happily coincides with our first term holidays, so yesterday had quite a festive air in the classroom. While I was reading with small groups, I allowed the others to do something "quiet and creative". Little did I know that they were in cahoots to make me an Easter present and card - which they all sneakily signed without me noticing. Sometimes you DO feel appreciated in teaching- makes up for the hard years!

Blog on..
Have you noticed that people are blogging less these days? Maybe it is due to Twittering more, or working more - I've certainly been guilty of slightly less blogging this year. When I sit at the computer, it is work first, then e-mail, then the community work I'm involved with, then read some twitter and blogs, then - time for dinner, or bed, or the occasional really good show on TV. What's your excuse?
