In the Pink

. She's smart, sassy, sexy and so athletic - a very good role model for the thousands of young women who have flocked to see Pink in Australia over the last three months. Last night I went to see her with a group of Mums and daughters, aunties and cousins, ranging from 70 to 12. Eliza organised the tickets and of course, pink accessories for us all. Everyone loved the singing, acrobats, trapeze, tribute to Led Zepplin (what a guitarist she has!) and dancing.
Thanks, Eliza!

Art Attack

Our school is holding its first art show on September 1st. Every class has been busy for some time doing our best to have a quality artwork from each student to display. Bravely, or stupidly, I decided to go with clay figurines. Not easy coil pots -but small, fiddly, fragile figurines. My sum total of experience with clay stems from 1969 when I was at High School. A recipe for disaster? Well, no - surprisingly, the class have all made beautiful little shapes, and 20 out of 30 survived being fired in the kiln of a friendly high school. Today they painted their fired pieces (while the other 10 started again, but easier shapes) and I have to say I am really pleased with the result. The theme of the show is "In Your Backyard", and we have a tree house, a tyre swing on a tree, bugs, beetles, a redback spider, a kangaroo (!), a fish, a trampoline, a water feature.....all made in miniature, fired and painted. I'll be taking photos on Monday - I know you can't wait to see them!!

Happy Birthday, Princess!

When an Event Organiser has a birthday, you better believe that it is an organised event. She has already had the favourite home cooked dinner and chocolate cake with pink sprinkles and sparklers (yes I made it) but more is to come on Saturday night. It involves ten-pin bowling, karioke, pizzas and beer, kicking on after, and staying in the city. Her friends are decorating the hotel room, and a tiara is involved, of course. I'm guessing Sunday will be a quiet day........

Does this ring any bells?

I went to my third trivia night in two months last night - you'd think there would be some improvement from all that practice. But no, I managed to get the same question wrong twice.
I promise I will now never forget that a campanologist is a bell ringer. And the King of Hearts is the only one without a moustache - and I've already forgotten the names of the two guys who developed Google. The next time I'm invited to Trivia? I'm busy!
